Yes, the file exists.

hg status -A by itself produces a lot of output. hg status -A on a
non-existant file produces nothing just as it does on .ido.last

Mercurial Distributed SCM (version b81baf9e4dd6)

b81baf9e4dd6 is a recent stable version. I built it from source with a
pull from their stable repo:
