The problem here is that when you create an installer, the Guix inside the image is the one defined in gnu/packages/package-management.scm (currently 1.1.0-4.bdc801e). Which works fine. But when you install a system using that Guix, it will install an _older_ Guix snapshot, from its embedded gnu/packages/package-management.scm, which is the broken 1.1.0-3.52b01cb. Probably we should make a new Guix snapshot to work around it. It's a fairly safe and easy operation, just run 'make update-guix-package' on a commit that is available on Savannah. Can you try it? :-) --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQEzBAEBCgAdFiEEu7At3yzq9qgNHeZDoqBt8qM6VPoFAl7Za74ACgkQoqBt8qM6 VPpAiQf/Q6919qv61D3B8FoA5VHgPVy8vp/E1eO/LF4RKGNif2ToXKObeBYTfdNZ KYVE1PnS6htL8Lsf6uu697lFeyAL8fHR3hv47zJ9dHlutpLanmLu7rQD5nMR31KS Wiop707aK+LS4fHLzEpSNcDIiEAV1jBSy8A1l/5C9n2VapyY1VHYjOmE2JZamX35 3ljqZph0goZTyoCbzeyXZ2SWhPgnGt17+vzR6vlj7YueeTg2UcTPImFC5jzE+Dst VgHeo7DXq1pSMvWRhmuHczJ56KpHdHlH9IvzN073x5usdFrBHgRsa0hhs7+9+SMx TZoI1hrtKAhKINR750aVbdzWEQYmjw== =01Ps -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=-- From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Thu Jun 04 18:29:58 2020 Received: (at 41693) by debbugs.gnu.org; 4 Jun 2020 22:29:58 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:47667 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jgyN4-0004dp-EC for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 04 Jun 2020 18:29:58 -0400 Received: from sender4-of-o56.zoho.com ([136.143.188.56]:21605) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jgyN2-0004dg-Lo for 41693@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 04 Jun 2020 18:29:57 -0400 ARC-Seal: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; t=1591309794; cv=none; d=zohomail.com; s=zohoarc; b=Xy3HakmGC4uJ50hxE64fhnS5odHTJy2KYfbwn0KzKN2CIc09hNlc6I88KRQPoN3HGAC5cI0q6yK9FnxWAQCcw6NLPlo0YHv4moFD9Sz5YLj5fuZEW/4Xp0lQiVG0cH2xR1XVn6YeyiLyIWcbeOCTQKLWT1qMGsNrS6atKAiEpqQ= ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=zohomail.com; s=zohoarc; t=1591309794; h=Content-Type:Date:From:MIME-Version:Message-ID:Subject:To; bh=9ZPlahUrJ/8SQXod6gLoLd0z6wGeGGh4D23luEoSAJ0=; b=XNBnUN2DAnMT9O52ivBIjb70Q5yUjZdDzeXTv9pqHKfkyENIq4TrVZi72q2FrYTsIqeH1s/4C0tqlvitzKQqJf87P/luF8uVXeaf7bgadgSyCLz4/5j0wsSMhnJSTzLPk7UogNg8uOziKnYPHtoxXcsgW1pmrP8L14lA7Sa75UI= ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx.zohomail.com; dkim=pass header.i=elephly.net; spf=pass smtp.mailfrom=issues.guix.gnu.org@elephly.net; dmarc=pass header.from= header.from= DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; t=1591309794; s=zoho; d=elephly.net; i=issues.guix.gnu.org@elephly.net; h=MIME-Version:Content-Type:From:To:Date:Message-ID:Subject; bh=9ZPlahUrJ/8SQXod6gLoLd0z6wGeGGh4D23luEoSAJ0=; b=ZCdHlXps/F+G8/KXgHX7C4ciTQZ6kctSe1afG/D37eP2dmzZZjT7ivFuQMbd6aEB vPxKRfWCtIZPXOntfTQFMkXO8ReTvNarwOPoSCMfW55FLpdI78de+zvKn6wmKHesq7k FN4Ic0FjafWIHnWtXcUuYpvTzaSIXmywngXr8+zQ= Received: from localhost (185.220.102.7 [185.220.102.7]) by mx.zohomail.com with SMTPS id 1591309792081461.8907045962992; Thu, 4 Jun 2020 15:29:52 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 From: Kozo via web To: 41693@debbugs.gnu.org Date: Fri, 5 Jun 2020 00:29:47 +0200 Message-ID: <7fb638924a70.4e6ad818ee0df73@guile.gnu.org> Subject: freshly installed system cannot run “guix_ pull” X-ZohoMailClient: External X-Spam-Score: 2.5 (++) X-Spam-Report: Spam detection software, running on the system "debbugs.gnu.org", has NOT identified this incoming email as spam.
