I have installed fontconfig and a few font packages. However, I am noticing that these fonts seem to be interfering with fonts installed via the system's package manager (APT) and are causing rendering problems in non-Guix applications such as evince. Is there any additional configuration I need to do to get fonts from the system and Guix to cooperate with each other? Any help would be appreciated. Please also let me know if there's any needed but missing information and I'll be happy to provide it. Hello! My apologies for leaving this hanging for so long. It appears I had a fontconfig configuration file left over from a long time ago that was intended to manually add the path for Guix fonts to the fontconfig paths, so that I could use Ubuntu's fontconfig rather than use fontconfig from Guix. I had forgotten it was even there. Getting rid of it and re-caching the fonts like you said has fixed the issue. Not sure why I thought that was a good idea... Thank you for your help! =2D- Evan --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEE6f/SZXb4DLdwy+VR9TDDtKKp8G0FAl6gmy4ACgkQ9TDDtKKp 8G2nYQ//SE7RuXbIeZ87GrNCSQtPEwtQiBj4ICMgR+dI1agdySi3LYsIE8F0bEy2 K5kif918w3V/92EUs78Y8JVkOATTwB3M8B20/QYcPZ3z1kcnOIILbyvDmna6AHrT I4sTcO/rJmjIeC3Z5nlIk2xnDbbwFrzIJmMvrXfpmKawRGGYQa2FRUA3CuOTe91+ u4b4OYV+qgmaqE3qpGiPemyFemvrTAR+9PweszMaJVUnbaV2RznCpHwhcIxFVz6k bKT02OhugkHfH7svIFeTcpOBCBgInDll6pjUP6WVBgcgmTgsw46Herl6rvQg8qUD TgsliSSiTDYEojFPzy+6PZ8UpB9CV/7ZLCMd4qMoF+G7kZJQ0yT2q+WdVZUV4bPc TePb+0kzgph/ZTSz2Sx4KyAg4WFXeDLTslS5DQvJhOFR/7KQRaZ6r4NbzWrYO/41 meH9jMRMAKD2X7dt36TSdH28qrLBrlmM+hdTAv3PxBfrJCihQ9ZHA7i5YE61zu7s ZcxRERHSbQwjy6i90IykI406X//jPXq7kZx5+YcjYS1QCtuMAW2W+Z7XhPsTtzxZ rUYO91LMvqDybJPPBQpnU8SZdFUhyw5nUQvX9FSEwGLwwiAqOKOdbPt1AV1M4o4l DVhA399cRd0dgpIdf8OoZeH97DSkAz5dwO8Wk41ZIL22cy7J28o= =ssQn -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=-- From unknown Sun Jun 15 08:55:10 2025 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: MIME-tools 5.505 (Entity 5.505) X-Loop: help-debbugs@gnu.org From: help-debbugs@gnu.org (GNU bug Tracking System) To: Evan Straw Subject: bug#40390: closed (Re: bug#40390: Rendering problems when using fonts from Guix on foreign distro) Message-ID: References: <20200422195324.GD22856@jasmine.lan> <87blo9iydd.fsf@gmail.com> X-Gnu-PR-Message: they-closed 40390 X-Gnu-PR-Package: guix Reply-To: 40390@debbugs.gnu.org Date: Wed, 22 Apr 2020 19:54:02 +0000 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="----------=_1587585242-25495-1" This is a multi-part message in MIME format... ------------=_1587585242-25495-1 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Your bug report #40390: Rendering problems when using fonts from Guix on foreign distro which was filed against the guix package, has been closed.
