Just some other questions: Does it happen also with "emacs -Q"? > Does it happen with Emacs 27.0.90, or Emacs 26.3? It happens with both Emacs 27 (just did a pull/make, so it’s up to date) and the master branch. I’ve not tried 26. All the testing here is with emacs -Q on the master branch. With my full configuration it seems even worse as even just typing the path in can slow down Emacs. I don’t know if that’s related, though. -- Alan Third From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Wed Mar 18 16:48:55 2020 Received: (at 40113) by debbugs.gnu.org; 18 Mar 2020 20:48:55 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:41503 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jEfcV-0000OU-8u for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Wed, 18 Mar 2020 16:48:55 -0400 Received: from mout.gmx.net ([212.227.17.21]:40981) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jEfcT-0000OF-DX for 40113@debbugs.gnu.org; Wed, 18 Mar 2020 16:48:54 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/simple; d=gmx.net; s=badeba3b8450; t=1584564525; bh=z34HWT1VANQP65X+9JZtHzhrePBgc5B3GHl/DgUuvgs=; h=X-UI-Sender-Class:From:To:Cc:Subject:References:Date:In-Reply-To; b=GXJjJFe76WHytMBCPmAsFmUTWSjuMt7JrvAn5HbrC01n/HlmcjPx1Bvf0Frf29wpq 7dseXkYjYjADVcKT84Y2Wgmu9BQ7KGIAF4/7JdExbko1/aBqJm6RvKvFU80x4aWr77 IbKwjlcVrGHtKty6SutrMO4nv6wikbrHeQM641bE= X-UI-Sender-Class: 01bb95c1-4bf8-414a-932a-4f6e2808ef9c Received: from detlef.gmx.de ([79.140.112.193]) by mail.gmx.com (mrgmx105 [212.227.17.168]) with ESMTPSA (Nemesis) id 1N2mFY-1jQjPV0yb6-0138zm; Wed, 18 Mar 2020 21:48:45 +0100 From: Michael Albinus To: Alan Third Subject: Re: bug#40113: 28.0.50; Tramp uses 100% CPU then times out References: <87k13i3pgs.fsf@gmx.de> <20200318145842.GA45098@breton.holly.idiocy.org> <87fte54de5.fsf@gmx.de> <20200318204106.GB57808@breton.holly.idiocy.org> Date: Wed, 18 Mar 2020 21:48:44 +0100 In-Reply-To: <20200318204106.GB57808@breton.holly.idiocy.org> (Alan Third's message of "Wed, 18 Mar 2020 21:41:08 +0100 (CET)") Message-ID: <87zhcd2xub.fsf@gmx.de> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/28.0.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Provags-ID: V03:K1:/gT7xpGpX8UR38EOsFrbu7G4Ji+P5tUWgm8LS6HszYBalc/krGV IFMSjz0Irr5KiQUpvyO1uPn0sNQMHUu5DA74dj6Uw68YBgm/eahRnOhRptn20VprU+evHj9 in9x9JQZ2osJ7ek6Shnp9vddaVZUxIbSfG3Hm0nr2lheT8ttbUuPHS/prppTS7DJga7WHWZ UtoEJ6nxC1rq7tJS3ZOrg== X-Spam-Flag: NO X-UI-Out-Filterresults: notjunk:1;V03:K0:X+cQi7e8POQ=:lAzTn011gjNhsGO9tnaOO1 VYCSmt9pfGDhSQGhRsY/B4uFIOvCLeKNMFAu/po7RyyIfi0XHP/a1mBtOp1g/OwJcseXZDmRw elBmcKOW6bslpM8Ppy50p/NbxWbxGKv5nK5ktUa2TJMYUsYS6ou40YAQgT9U46+2l7OP6u5wH TkPqt2rx5n+/DxN2jK71x8X8p/RzE5mF4F6AV+snymeYpeTRkgN4q5GfCBaT/MkJ3zIcdlStT YHdoZZ6ZiFMszChrRokXfSU1sHc4iQRwVsmm6gkTOyC5U8R5NVQwacPm2jvo4DU+bDIB0qU2N wHqOBG6TtLh1sDh3K6Qnw1ZZA3PTM+XR6M6HkFYNmFhgnXLw8cHL7NKHY6WWLzyrAA6zokCsC guB6n7FtypqcIBBfccOb5AGvtAkWFl2wUrJOhNAv3F1rorDy7tx4TqIP3K+WglP4mxRyD0r4r CmJmdi5oJbVFpuKYRghNqHxRU0fVOHUcEqnSFq1Pn5cXnkD6y/1yKEBTJIehdr5m2FR7cAvOO cgRTPwQLunBBqM/SpR8h0dVq34DwlGKNtxdufKXZT29/ws6BrFoe+60SiP0QIMOA6I/VXqM3s kDq1oXY6I2ArM0kkAJR9LCW1IZN8PK4kLkNkrZvBYBlDu7jWgOhjwbRdeTzMXZcYJZ7qr1Ilc hfJ5fvCRJbMgU1ISDl7q3Xr7ljHi5ZYi1PytDTubNO9WdZwrrb5tGXKAGR5r6nGPLIm6feiMb SHv4Y2kOK5QMJUEpLIVKRuISnUQ3jd+Cb2Y2QDg9Q3g3qEGLUVjtT4cc5tr/1skuah/bUo/LR ScxnGBE2/h4QqzbSn1BvCHeGTZZkRZegPXk2I0F1FDMVJZ9hra888Wxof4WRN+TYXuFQLeYiQ TaxSluYYSO1aGW/52a1NPSid0S9Ha9Z96S/ily3S4IHQX8VtPybbXYi4GSlUxKz1o4D/kI/65 u/TWQnUnnOKGSZGjPYAlnInbjPtjLSIljMA/EKD+dJZ2wssHcMOCRMmA/kC8/kkSIr5uxG0ZS ZBQOnV6LgHf27j7ESbVRY4l1eosLIa8vN++5YK7O2MSO+0cznp2cTbhhgFZLPYllBiFGCf+4a aJ64jUfNRO0e0S9aXX7L9yIZUiVIFBgdy3EvEcsgWfaMAnTw/zagtyorISH2NVMqpgK0PBCw1 zCQiIwLjigFgjNY5LyUL7nRis2U0X4lJrkBoASsZEmSX4xH59gviNR5hAwzmXVytz/MrJO6lB rxeZ0aZU3zF6hLSdW X-Spam-Score: -0.7 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 40113 Cc: 40113@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.7 (-) Alan Third writes: Hi Alan, >> Thanks. I suppose it must be something that’s changed in zsh and my one working server is rather out of date.
