Message #5 received at submit <at> emacsbugs.donarmstrong.com (full text, mbox):
My mac is a synergy client of a linux server (both client/server are
version 1.3.1, protocol version 1.3)
http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/
When I start up Emacs.app (23.1) (or the Aquamacs.app 2.0 preview),
while using synergy, the File/Edit/Options... etc, menus are all
missing any items whatsoever.
If I first use my native keyboard/mouse to view the menus, they
appear, and then continue to appear for the inputs coming through the
synergy client.

My mac is a synergy client of a linux server
Do you mean a server running GNU/Linux? Please don't call it a "Linux
server" -- that means giving the system's principal developer none of
the credit. (See http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html.)
What is a "synergy client"?

Message #20 received at submit <at> emacsbugs.donarmstrong.com (full text, mbox):
Synergy is a program that sends mouse/keyboard commands through TCP/IP
from a "server" to a "client". So, in fact, it's just my secondary
desktop machine running GNU/Linux (ubuntu), that sends it's input to
the synergy client running on my Mac, which inserts those into it's
own input stream.
The fault could very possibly be with synergy, or how it's putting
it's events into the Mac's queue, but in the 2 or 3 years I've been
running synergy I have yet to see this behaviour.

Thanks for the information.
I hope that you will find a way to replace MacOS on the client machine
with GNU/Linux or BSD. It won't necessarily fix this bug, but it will
get rid of a lot of user-subjugating software.

I propose this bug be returned to the reporter with a request to reproduce on a more recent version of Emacs and Synergy. I’m unable to attempt to reproduce due to the Synergy service requiring a paid account, hence the request for the reporter to verify.

Hi Greg,
Sorry it's taken so long for us to respond to this bug report.
Unfortunately we're not able to reproduce it. Are you able to test it on
a newer build of Emacs?

Since it's been a couple of weeks with no response, I'll close this bug.
If you're still experiencing it get back to us.
