The tests fail to many other uses of [a-z] in regexps.  I will look;
for e.g. guix/import/cran.scm

(if (string-match "^[A-Za-z][^ :]+:( |\n|$)" line)
    …)

it would be easier and clearer to just list [a-z] explicitly:
