Sorry for that... When I try to build arc-theme and leave it to run, the entire system eventually freezes. When I monitor how much memory it takes, I see that it spawns a sassc process that eventually takes all 30 GB of the RAM not taken by GNOME and the other services. When I sent the initial bug report, I found an upstream github issue that this could be related to, but I lost it. What should be done? If someone tries to build arc-theme or other packages that use sassc without a timeout, their system will probably crash from memory usage. -Jesse From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sun Jan 19 12:34:20 2020 Received: (at 38887-done) by debbugs.gnu.org; 19 Jan 2020 17:34:20 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:43826 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1itESq-0003L4-B5 for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Sun, 19 Jan 2020 12:34:20 -0500 Received: from tobias.gr ([80.241.217.52]:34792) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1itESo-0003Kw-HV for 38887-done@debbugs.gnu.org; Sun, 19 Jan 2020 12:34:19 -0500 Received: by tobias.gr (OpenSMTPD) with ESMTP id 7f29fe64 for <38887-done@debbugs.gnu.org>; Sun, 19 Jan 2020 17:34:16 +0000 (UTC) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed; d=tobias.gr; h=from:to :subject:date:message-id:mime-version:content-type; s=2018; i= me@tobias.gr; bh=eVIsQ/MCqVgm+og0hZcW9svYqe/Lpm57LcOnFp86Q8U=; b= jI/JJnCyqRxd0KMjg25p5rxAjq53cy8mTTUmoou5swszN5FY8n6vHZXXLAc9mTQ+ Q9IrC8PeJ25CiiTw1B/2E7P+I5uJSjpgiOOhpStiCp5yUVWToIHn9u/tV7Ebx/xw xpWPEMlGPlBChoWoMaQEf0p0tBwKsWSzgjaCUFvVCp1PzYOeFxbSlQsUpUhFIH2v XbJ0ueUQG3sStOzaUQbgFbEix/r+BIBlFAG1tXIUsMARUGgGr1RkrEQ97QGm9CWi y3ixmsi73YiLrVDXz7iZ+hw7cmUGIE3L8ZPGlxn2WCNChu6vB7h8OVH3VbniY1/H ZcIxowrgaUglW09Kiz9BYg== Received: by submission.tobias.gr (OpenSMTPD) with ESMTPSA id b93a0045 (TLSv1.3:TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256:NO) for <38887-done@debbugs.gnu.org>; Sun, 19 Jan 2020 17:34:16 +0000 (UTC) From: Tobias Geerinckx-Rice To: 38887-done@debbugs.gnu.org Subject: Re: sassc has a memory leak Date: Sun, 19 Jan 2020 18:34:17 +0100 Message-ID: <878sm3bbae.fsf@nckx> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="=-=-="; micalg=pgp-sha512; protocol="application/pgp-signature" X-Spam-Score: -2.3 (--) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 38887-done X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -3.3 (---) --=-=-= Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Jesse, Thanks for the report! Probably this[0]. There's no fix yet. I've pushed=20 bed24ecfcd68ca6fbc21f02b477cffff3b4c0450 which reverts back to=20 libsass@3.5 for arc-theme, and am closing this bug.
