I see. That works as I expected, right. But what I described still looks like a bug to me, though...I mean, I think the user shouldn't have to type M-b to then type C-M-i, in order to be able to continue typing after the completed word. Furthermore, the documentation under Spelling, in the Emacs Manual says: Complete the word before point based on the spelling dictionary (=E2=80=98ispell-complete-word=E2=80=99). and then: Insert the beginning of a word, and then type =E2=80=98M-=E2=80= =99; Note the "before point". That's what I did. The only thing different I did was that I wanted to complete a word that was not at the end of the buffer. And knowing only that much, I expected the cursor to be at the end of the completed word. --000000000000fb459d0593b0e5c9 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I= see.=C2=A0 That works as I expected, right.

But what I described st= ill looks like a bug to me, though...I mean, =C2=A0I
think the user shou= ldn't have to type M-b to then type C-M-i, in order
to be able to co= ntinue typing after the completed word.

Furthermore, the documentati= on under Spelling, in the Emacs Manual says:

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0Com= plete the word before point based on the spelling dictionary
=C2=A0 =C2= =A0 =C2=A0(=E2=80=98ispell-complete-word=E2=80=99).

and then:
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0Insert the beginning of a word, and then type =E2=80= =98M-<TAB>=E2=80=99;

Note the "before point".=C2=A0 = That's what I did.=C2=A0 The only thing different I
did was that I w= anted to complete a word that was not at the end of the
buffer.=C2=A0 An= d knowing only that much, I expected the cursor to be at the
end of the = completed word.
