Kmscon supports various font engines (and more than just bitmap fonts!) and xorg style keyboard layouts configuration. Those would be really nice to be able to configure. I have tried to do this myself. I found the following when modifying the kmscon-service

 - The options can be provided via cli options or configuration file.
 - Keyboard configuration seems to work using cli options for both system and non-system profiles.
 - Fonts cannot be found in the system profile even if the system profile has the font installed. When spawned from a non-system profile, kmscon can find the fonts so long as the font is installed in the profile and the font cache is updated.
