On OS X, if you create a symlink to the Emacs binary and run it, Emacs
fails to start:

-- snip --
ieure!electron:~$ ln -s /Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs
emacs
ieure!electron:~$ ./emacs
Warning: arch-dependent data dir (/Users/ieure/Projects/emacs/nextstep/
Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/libexec/emacs/23.0.94/i386-apple-
darwin9.7.0/) does not exist.
Cannot open load file: encoded-kb
ieure!electron:~$
-- snip --

The data dir is the in directory I built Emacs from.

I looked at the code (won't work) and also tried TextEdit with a
symlink (also doesn't work). I don't think it will work with disable-
self-contained either. Since TextEdit fails, I'm assuming app
bundles working with a symlink just isn't expected under OS X and I'm
closing the bug.
