Say, rm, cp, mv have --verbose.
How about for touch too?
Then one wouldn't need
$ set -x; touch /tmp/{a,b,c}.el; set +x
+ touch /tmp/a.el /tmp/b.el /tmp/c.el
to see what it was touching or not.
