Subject: Libtool installation failing with syntax error

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Hello,

I am following the libtool installation instructions here:
curl -OL http://ftpmirror.gnu.org/libtool/libtool-2.4.6.tar.gz
tar -xzf libtool-2.4.6.tar.gz
cd libtool-*
./configure
make
sudo make install

Unfortunately, when I run make I get the following error:

  GEN libtoolize
sed: 1: "/^\. /s|@auxscriptsdir\ ...": unescaped newline inside substitute pattern
make: *** [libtoolize] Error 1

I have tried this several times with the same results. I even tried going one version back to libtool-2.4.5

Please advise.
