Granted, there was a `y-or-no-p' style question, but obviously he has accepted w/o thinking too much. See . Since this is sensible data, he proposes to make it harder to confirm. `auth-source-netrc-saver' should offer an alternative confirmation prompt, more like `yes-or-no-p'. Which prompt to apply should be configurable. Honestly, I'm undecided. The major idea of this request was to make it harder to save a password string somewhere. Just a single ky is too easy. To my taste, yes/no is sufficient. The password is always applied (i.e., used), but it can be saved, not saved and don't ask again. And in addition you can edit the .authinfo line. So I don't see yes-or-no-p working here. It could add another "really save?" after you've answered "y", though, but I think that sounds kinda obnoxious. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Fri Oct 11 06:03:02 2019 Received: (at 34145) by debbugs.gnu.org; 11 Oct 2019 10:03:03 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:57697 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1iIrlG-0002bH-Cw for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Fri, 11 Oct 2019 06:03:02 -0400 Received: from mout.gmx.net ([212.227.15.15]:48063) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1iIrlD-0002ah-C8 for 34145@debbugs.gnu.org; Fri, 11 Oct 2019 06:03:00 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/simple; d=gmx.net; s=badeba3b8450; t=1570788171; bh=0eeJ6xHPwvyK3ovfRo69qLQgdcoJcIKy8+scVDfzVbU=; h=X-UI-Sender-Class:From:To:Cc:Subject:References:Date:In-Reply-To; b=jMst3J4nwuMleUmhuSwcnrLq1VmeD57SZn+9UKMvlrMgCjQF8fOJMkb5+8tsnu4eP dWaL1/qJKotuqSiH0qmgWxMc+ePethjjsIUNpP5Z6cQKBTTComwzpk+v379N2zD9hf aFJozUcTZCoK2lPimlPQdOvivbvuvMpcYMOnAiMg= X-UI-Sender-Class: 01bb95c1-4bf8-414a-932a-4f6e2808ef9c Received: from detlef.gmx.de ([212.86.42.71]) by mail.gmx.com (mrgmx005 [212.227.17.190]) with ESMTPSA (Nemesis) id 1N2E1M-1hwQpY3cA2-013fZo; Fri, 11 Oct 2019 12:02:51 +0200 From: Michael Albinus To: Lars Ingebrigtsen Subject: Re: bug#34145: 27.0.50; Writing .authinfo needs better confirmation References: <8736pn8uw0.fsf@gmx.de> <87mue9zhk5.fsf@gnus.org> <87lftt9nng.fsf@gmx.de> <87h84fohpt.fsf@gnus.org> Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2019 12:02:47 +0200 In-Reply-To: <87h84fohpt.fsf@gnus.org> (Lars Ingebrigtsen's message of "Fri, 11 Oct 2019 09:37:50 +0200") Message-ID: <87eezja9bs.fsf@gmx.de> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/27.0.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain X-Provags-ID: V03:K1:fVTRI/xJ7utZi3KjPKN3v8Ov9iT5XOA6BiXYrigWnIPEjx0JcE7 fUVGrb0g8ZdLW8i4A4PT3vvtHjhv6QZ6bR9FjVPttBymD0IukOauGIEcPBq1cAyzwF8bKx3 bqEiEQgJt4UjYRwrIXwKFEczLxMTC4aBtICmjVa6oAAsc9R/J8/8piKrO2vwVZXvl1Q4BsB xDjoYHhYxI7gmuO0FmLuA== X-Spam-Flag: NO X-UI-Out-Filterresults: notjunk:1;V03:K0:z7amDEiv9MI=:JJcq9kUijLWRMrAM7BpFjo BAbnhfhwQ2VoF4WzCg3h4w5glQP1ma4cG4IggR6fsNb7d5NwgOpgg0uMAyvDeYoXhKZSzKQS+ CM4ygid9cTCeQE4bMWABzNSZfyZlHHzxnsCZHd3v23khdM7c+BtfZSHPHLIdl52fTcfniUYDL KK9qdyYfESAhGbGH2HlxWCZI/fTa2FcL46lpItdLcCxWZez0sp5ZRYWJwhDMChgIgtaUUw3PU BKm7UjEZfHR229CrVcj6mezUCyqK86/2tyAL983ZZ/AMVXuJxC7hy1QdO+psuDHLI8Irf9KxS VkSKQus6kq+UGnNjms4k3cDSY6n99pRXgSr51QmTIjTgOGO+1wJe1IuXogt+RQORN73VC5Bvy Xj8A39cLzbNNHlsPTEFe0fexW52U0x9zOOSBQFgYJRWOsGeZdeaQAMWOQwRRr9FmVnhrsqApq HRDMW/AbYYgtlf61acy+nxFRXVcJ2LqZSO4e9Sm1XNAIO0WAUBHbbxASNmQbZM9eUaM3IqA3w vh1LM2gBe0j6u/AGCL4iUf25C7pNLJrg1ttkCnpqzqr96k8QPkZ7U9F1KnuQpOQ0n5sBfrxgH luwYMVPEq/Lct4HrOLMheT8mLr43MvTG7ETN6mIZBcXWpyBysWDHHr8hn6wdghbw1iys1BRJN RwrH0XSccqrYf/YK+nd48pZJriqTvJNjeinzBgZOa1DrOYdJ/RZ4obCX6s6yPH5Wg8G5rM2ZN P1jBcGWB9FJfVCCjR/rQqhqilsuAasbKFAblnQBNAE+aXGyk26p5qzpj9BI9jvvGg50JLMcw2 wo/njOV8/8Mm9EiE1Sa2uAsVURHcCgZ37Y037YpW/Log2RbAwigXXjVIJThIH4liYEIZaxXf1 WplEP59H/Nbqp8Ku4DPNLdXwpZhI/OHSwpJxaVjC2OF3OfD2ACE6QUa5mxVsBLpEjliAwI3qC jLy1PbONq/aW+6v6OFQheNXIGoJPlSTvGILJY8++q5VxOHsOOKP9lzymvJ43170cIlMA+Bvcg vNsO9GfNGExZy1ogdtz6yXCWR7tFsVYpdJuR0hTvc0qmkGJuwAlj2Z4C65Ww3QOPbfy/o+P8r +4mYAAseaVaVxid+UL9QAKucUC9JLCCaudNGI9LsL13FB6RtCK/nHuO2cybbPuPcIAGSy/EuS vz2OzuhaQL5GbMcgsKOLEfK8Xu8CjgSWtiFldS+PP2Vi3VTk+iUEb6a/0O1rGR71Qwc9kO/pE 0VtqmzMpRFgvFBN8aaikS2eb6wkSDUNgnntrqAWlVZgT5NR5/VfV99nrCYoc= X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 34145 Cc: 34145@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.0 (-) Lars Ingebrigtsen writes: > The password is always applied (i.e., used), but it can be saved, not > saved and don't ask again.
