I see that Emacs tried to report an args-out-of-range error, but aborted while invoking the debugger. I don't seem to be able to reproduce this here, so I suspect some customizations you made. In which case I'd need a Lisp backtrace, available with the GDB command xbacktrace (defined on src/.gdbinit).
