I can't open a javascript file(even if I renamed it into a .txt) in
emacs (gtk). No-window mode is working fine though. It is not a problem
of my config, I've tried fresh config and in two different machine. I'm
giving you the link of the repository containing the file below. It is
the 'index.js' file and I believe the 'conversions' variable is causing
the problem.

Please give the information from M-x report-emacs-bug.
Please give a minimal complete example starting from emacs -Q.
If the crash is not reproducible, progress will require a backtrace from
an unoptimized build.

Here's the steps to reproduce.
1. Open Emacs by running emacs -Q (in GUI).
2. Open the file mentioned in the original bug report.
3. That's it, it crashes.

Here's the system information found by running 'emacs-report-bug':

I can't reproduce this, but I'm guessing it could be that font thing again.

If you run

     XFT_DEBUG=16 emacs -Q -xrm "emacs.synchronous: true"

does it give some output on the terminal before crashing (as described
in https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=31936#8)?

If you can build from git, testing with the latest emacs-26 branch would
be helpful too.

Okay, does doing (setq face-ignored-fonts '("Noto")) before opening the
file avoid the crash?

No, it works with both with and without noto. But, Bengali Font is broken.
I think it is a compile issue, I haven't compiled 27.x with m17n support.

I meant, does setting face-ignored-fonts in Emacs 26.1 avoid the crash?

Checked, the problem persists with face-ignored-fonts.

Oh. Robert, did I get the workaround wrong, or does it mean that this
is not a dup of #30874?

উৎসব, can you see if it crashes on 26.1.50 (i.e., build from the
emacs-26 branch)?

Hello, compiled and run, it is okay in 26.1.50.132031.

For a reason I donʼt understand, the matching against
'face-ignored-fonts' only seems to happen on startup, so you need to
set it in xfaces.c and recompile.

If itʼs fixed in 27.x, then setting 'xft-ignore-color-fonts' to nil
before you visit index.js should make the crash come back, and this is
then a dup of #30874

Nevermind. Not enough coffee, the matching works correctly.

If this is #30874 though, setting face-ignored-fonts should have
worked around it.

Alright, since it's fixed on master and emacs-26, I don't think we
should spend too much time on figuring out whether or not it's a dup.
