It depends. For anything older than GTK 3.10 we look at GDK_SCALE,
otherwise we inspect the GTK widget directly (but the widget value
again comes either from GDK_SCALE or from the window manager
settings).

We donʼt have an exposed API for checking the scale. I donʼt think we
need one (and this bug is independent of scaling for me).
