But AFAICT, the flymake-warnline face, previously, used DarkOrange (now it's an obsolete alias). Flycheck also uses this color for warnings. Flymake's own fringe indicators (for warning) also use an orange color by default, inheriting it from the `warning' face through `compilation-warning'. So I think that flymake-warning should use it as well. The current blue is pretty and all, but it conveys an optimistic mood, not something I would associate with a warning. +++ In GNU Emacs 26.0.90 (build 5, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.22.11) of 2017-11-07 built on zappa Repository revision: ca2d94ba61dee678f85bfc7299d167e7219e6d8f Windowing system distributor 'The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.11903000 System Description: Ubuntu 17.04 From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Mon Aug 10 12:25:42 2020 Received: (at 29192) by debbugs.gnu.org; 10 Aug 2020 16:25:42 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:37318 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1k5AcI-0001Ku-Fm for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 10 Aug 2020 12:25:42 -0400 Received: from mail-yb1-f182.google.com ([209.85.219.182]:45605) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1k5AcG-0001Kg-Du for 29192@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 10 Aug 2020 12:25:40 -0400 Received: by mail-yb1-f182.google.com with SMTP id x2so5430194ybf.12 for <29192@debbugs.gnu.org>; Mon, 10 Aug 2020 09:25:40 -0700 (PDT) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:from:in-reply-to:references:user-agent :mime-version:date:message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=pwb0vouUsKdOdapeOoB/h8Jxn5b7i5KoLO3iS3Q2yb4=; b=MZ47BfibjkUwbW3bTVcMKJL/ava6izgFimDpUNiuA/kmkRNYSrn5NHt43yevifU8PU 9T3PGYewyXapPwMPJ8Z7kk/xowCayCoLeHbKNbHpLCQhe53khEt5QXPSOT784sxtNIUU JmQ5FkkcoPlAqIVBjzAW8Fm1/7tPQueewFq60B8JwGRZ1+q8iXaqcKCrSQ8UnYejWWDD bmv35uUU+Mtwr/AxjCnsUR8SVdUH13XGV3Lsx1hJO2NLYCTcpWv5SNl2QO84Q7yJ8TaW J4R2yCAAvAOMXcvNOX3JApyh7pvKMe0QDu7B7jmnsApLpYf7pmbQj9oDsx24uVg7emkc aBBg== X-Gm-Message-State: AOAM532YTZY7xn+YdaHRGmhYO0CAZMKh7+YyvkMFuI+hLZQ1plzwj2RC swfMZ5O12q2agb5AzCy6Y+P8chS6WP5jE8kbEjQd7a+Bvao= X-Google-Smtp-Source: ABdhPJxqCySBaeruinfeAccbWiHGoHryFs9yCY2xi+HfiUDq+ldABDm7bCnucN4oz4ZyySWeA96vL0U5IyVi7ULPRaM= X-Received: by 2002:a25:b88b:: with SMTP id w11mr43145664ybj.129.1597076734951; Mon, 10 Aug 2020 09:25:34 -0700 (PDT) Received: from 753933720722 named unknown by gmailapi.google.com with HTTPREST; Mon, 10 Aug 2020 09:25:34 -0700 From: Stefan Kangas In-Reply-To: <4cb8ab20-4e2e-f26b-a58c-a10d80ebdf77@yandex.ru> (Dmitry Gutov's message of "Tue, 7 Nov 2017 16:49:11 +0200") References: <4cb8ab20-4e2e-f26b-a58c-a10d80ebdf77@yandex.ru> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/28.0.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Date: Mon, 10 Aug 2020 09:25:34 -0700 Message-ID: Subject: Re: bug#29192: 26.0.90; flymake-warning's default color might be inappropriate To: Dmitry Gutov Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 29192 Cc: 29192@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.0 (-) Dmitry Gutov writes: > I've never seen this discussed, and this might be a subjective opinion. > > But AFAICT, the flymake-warnline face, previously, used DarkOrange (now > it's an obsolete alias).
