How traumatic. > It would be better to switch the scroll-bar off The scroll-bar is off by default when the calendar is in a dedicated frame, eg: (setq calendar-setup 'calendar-only) When not in a dedicated frame, it looks weird to me to have a scroll bar missing in only one window in a frame, so I'm probably not going to change this (certainly not for Emacs 23.1).
