Should the packag= e be > changed such that it installs autoload files like all other packages? Yeah, I think its elisp files should be put either directly into "site-lisp" (as it is done by 'magit') or into "site-lisp/guix.d/..." (as it is done by 'let-alist', for example). As for the "...-autoloads.el" file, it can be created with 'emacs-generate-autoloads' procedure (see 'emacs-wget' or 'git-modes' for examples). Note: I've not looked at 'emacs-ess', so it was a theoretical comment :-) --=20 Alex From unknown Thu Aug 14 22:22:36 2025 X-Loop: help-debbugs@gnu.org Subject: bug#26046: ESS installed without autoload References: <87lgsd1p2o.fsf@elephly.net> In-Reply-To: <87lgsd1p2o.fsf@elephly.net> Resent-From: zimoun Original-Sender: "Debbugs-submit" Resent-CC: bug-guix@gnu.org Resent-Date: Wed, 13 May 2020 00:03:01 +0000 Resent-Message-ID: Resent-Sender: help-debbugs@gnu.org X-GNU-PR-Message: followup 26046 X-GNU-PR-Package: guix X-GNU-PR-Keywords: To: 26046@debbugs.gnu.org, Ricardo Wurmus , Alex Kost Received: via spool by 26046-submit@debbugs.gnu.org id=B26046.158932818124219 (code B ref 26046); Wed, 13 May 2020 00:03:01 +0000 Received: (at 26046) by debbugs.gnu.org; 13 May 2020 00:03:01 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:56892 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jYerV-0006IY-2V for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 12 May 2020 20:03:01 -0400 Received: from mail-qk1-f177.google.com ([209.85.222.177]:33070) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jYerT-0006IM-O3 for 26046@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 12 May 2020 20:02:59 -0400 Received: by mail-qk1-f177.google.com with SMTP id z80so10106357qka.0 for <26046@debbugs.gnu.org>; Tue, 12 May 2020 17:02:59 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20161025; h=mime-version:from:date:message-id:subject:to; bh=3QAuxTo7Ch5s9bwwn0jFpkgvx14pnjpicT9nuehIqF8=; b=uLfw/bsgPHAOSajcKSdO+kYsHyYNUg8QOYxq14XDfnvyZXgyZz8XLFNlokvhdAAG7Y 8J2n77+cYliWJbQ/xxkaMgcitx1aGmqUlo1CityMVhW2CCfy6YkMKAFgNQuwyDRLoD7B FiFKI4DKFt5Yyu0a/6Enoj2c08dZfkv8vNFUGRsw5n0o6isff4XMkytZO64aOTrw+94w FXex3RY9c+apF7o6FnMDOWaXxl+vcj4HKkLyrg1ZvbguX5nFCV1a/yfPHIAMr4ZbXT87 kn2grRcBAN5v7JchSfbwH7K0PO2XRF9UDXAaFWgTsMuOjvZSS9NOMxH6akDDZ+ygxnNj +HAg== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:from:date:message-id:subject:to; bh=3QAuxTo7Ch5s9bwwn0jFpkgvx14pnjpicT9nuehIqF8=; b=PYsxtGKxQSL/qGQJsDhFBY7sDWaJ+HfVJTEaDCTrTH9wirAjnJPM/pziPecGqi43Yu 5pmML/CUSW1E55AzhtMAzncIEmllS67dAD6reI4Y0gi4KVF2fzhe6GYjiJ17u2WXROVn udetT/ZN4yWyifBd/vf4/wIaF99HxqyzBiWkfo379B0yquqIV8CGvN+J4iZsVODV52Nr ACQ7VTXMhkS8dJBDQoOR2RL5LWgHeUX8Ekum4k/J/bVUIniQhJw2LG9oorbuac0dAWTT uTNO3Ynu6zxFke3DQ5rD0NqiZjwRNMW/vteoRlchX9E5+NXq/YQFgRDhJGsAb09aT1Wh E1Fw== X-Gm-Message-State: AGi0PuZbj2AedpBf3npszH1j7TKmQWFw41pMrbSgTP1Y2GQOhakxoWUp AlW95VuB41mpdSBee2MwvulCvbL+aaL/Wp+krqG+Sx5e X-Google-Smtp-Source: APiQypKEMd1eeVRir2/Y2XhZ8s+fbZjVtJP/86Rgcg8dfGZ4hpc3SYkevYIsOpoU/c1C/Ve+p4UcYQUKbrxFsJe2cBY= X-Received: by 2002:a37:96c4:: with SMTP id y187mr23917804qkd.126.1589328174101; Tue, 12 May 2020 17:02:54 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 From: zimoun Date: Wed, 13 May 2020 02:02:43 +0200 Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.0 (-) Dear, Digging in the bug tracker, I found this bug [1] about ESS saying that it does not behave like all other Emacs packages; installing in '$out/share/emacs/site-lisp/ess' instead of "guix.d".
