I build the new system config which includes SDDM instead, reconfigure, and at the point where SDDM service probably gets started, SDDM segfaults the current X11 session. This is a grave error with SDDM and needs some better way of handling the initial activation of the new display manager. --=20 =E2=99=A5=E2=92=B6 ng0 -- https://www.inventati.org/patternsinthechaos/ From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sat Feb 11 15:33:16 2017 Received: (at 25514) by debbugs.gnu.org; 11 Feb 2017 20:33:16 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:35924 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1cceM7-0003Nn-R2 for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Sat, 11 Feb 2017 15:33:16 -0500 Received: from perdizione.investici.org ([94.23.50.208]:60678) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1cceM6-0003Nf-0M for 25514@debbugs.gnu.org; Sat, 11 Feb 2017 15:33:14 -0500 Received: from [94.23.50.208] (perdizione [94.23.50.208]) (Authenticated sender: niasterisk@grrlz.net) by localhost (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id C05951211EF for <25514@debbugs.gnu.org>; Sat, 11 Feb 2017 20:33:12 +0000 (UTC) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=cryptolab.net; s=stigmate; t=1486845193; bh=OjDa09Ktw69e5iA7GJi58I1rkz+sIKWMWpvGLMHxin8=; h=Date:From:To:Subject:References:In-Reply-To; b=bM4QENc1fR4w/i4sNPLdqEVR1fVgAl8YgRJb+FErGAsEEVSL9laDZD4dN0LiTClcl Es5RlUQG1Rb6XZluM3hMBv30nUQXbCxQcVTcug0gD2c13CTUeEBfDI/90zxN7dFtmw itDVmHSj0HSDUfHE6UEB30ZAlsSin2dEK9ezPKdc= Date: Sat, 11 Feb 2017 20:34:53 +0000 From: ng0 To: 25514@debbugs.gnu.org Subject: Re: bug#25514: Acknowledgement (SDDM segfaults X11 session on first reconfigure) Message-ID: <20170211203452.dqk66lcxgkxltbnj@wasp> References: <87bmuxlio4.fsf@wasp.i-did-not-set--mail-host-address--so-tickle-me> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 25514 X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) On 17-01-23 18:51:02, GNU bug Tracking System wrote: > -- > 25514: http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=25514 > GNU Bug Tracking System > Contact help-debbugs@gnu.org with problems To be more specific, this is a problem with either sddm-service or display-manager-service. -- ng0 -- https://www.inventati.org/patternsinthechaos/
