User does (ffap-bindings) and then put the cursor up addresses like

;; Author: Michelangelo Grigni <mic <at> mathcs.emory.edu>
;; Maintainer: emacs-devel <at> gnu.org

and does C-x C-f, but the email addresses go totally undetected.

Also please add instructions for offline users.
I tried turning off the pinging but it still can't detect an address.
emacs-version "25.1.1"

Does it help to customize ffap-lax-url to a non-nil value? Does this
solve both issues?

I changed the default value to t, so that previous behavior of ffap is
preserved.

Thanks.
