The new shr-selected-link and old shr-strike-through and shr-link faces
all use the older (DISPLAY PLIST), as opposed to (DISPLAY . PLIST), face
spec syntax, according to (info "(elisp) Defining Faces").

Would this be a good opportunity to update them?
