Not all too bad given that we want (1200 . 600).  I'm really surprised
that the height seems OK.  What does evaluating the following three
forms in the new frame return?

(frame-parameter nil 'scroll-bar-width)
(frame-parameter nil 'left-fringe)
(frame-parameter nil 'right-fringe)
