As you can see in the screenshot http://screencast.com/t/56ko7cbR, new
mails are displayed with the face `gnus-summary-normal-unread' in
Windows Emacs and with the face `gnus-summary-normal-ancient' in Cygwin
Emacs!?

Please give a complete minimal example starting from emacs -Q.
