But shouldn't we have a general multiple-choice library function for these (sort of) extended y-or-n-p functions? While writing the NSM function, I was looking around for one, but the only thing I found was `gnus-multiple-choice'. :-) So I had implemented this before. A call using that function here would be (gnus-multiple-choice "Continue connecting?" '((?a "always") (?s "session only") (?n "no"))) Or something. If the user types something else, you get a help buffer and stuff. Shall I make that into a general function (it needs some tweaking in the prompting department)? -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sun Dec 14 06:36:59 2014 Received: (at 19368) by debbugs.gnu.org; 14 Dec 2014 11:36:59 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:45265 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.80) (envelope-from ) id 1Y07Tu-0000ot-C4 for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Sun, 14 Dec 2014 06:36:58 -0500 Received: from mail-qa0-f45.google.com ([209.85.216.45]:60902) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.80) (envelope-from ) id 1Y07Ts-0000of-6i for 19368@debbugs.gnu.org; Sun, 14 Dec 2014 06:36:56 -0500 Received: by mail-qa0-f45.google.com with SMTP id x12so6992571qac.18 for <19368@debbugs.gnu.org>; Sun, 14 Dec 2014 03:36:50 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=lifelogs.com; s=google; h=from:to:cc:subject:organization:references:mail-copies-to :gmane-reply-to-list:date:in-reply-to:message-id:user-agent :mime-version:content-type; bh=VCYqjl5WcOPXSp6cX1e6mJVFZf8SRygLNRQx0m0DFfM=; b=UUh5uJz0nhrE4t30lrIokMUKwQtx33yNX31aV+mAj56WCRqLlmw6aeUXRQnTwRjUEi TbCxl6Dy37tEdkMOGBuxYLqkXCSYkgHTOXklTFRQwriW800+tUVizg3JIqk+3GMi0eUf m4o4m7bTeyYgKQcc6hmLoM2HjDcHu5TNzREBI= X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20130820; h=x-gm-message-state:from:to:cc:subject:organization:references :mail-copies-to:gmane-reply-to-list:date:in-reply-to:message-id :user-agent:mime-version:content-type; bh=VCYqjl5WcOPXSp6cX1e6mJVFZf8SRygLNRQx0m0DFfM=; b=jx8+UTya8M+s5LnUPjrAp2rigau8KHeyNMjcyQXJAvHB6baGRom6gpA+cp5I1nhvUD wabuRxmZVf5zw9NNiaO/Wbye+jl4nufHxqn/qp1kkYxkj8qVwgB9d/ACmYgZqzC/BGx1 KMTdTKxQH4Q9NibhgaDKbpg7JvX3bpSNInZ89WgwVDyAtyB8IJF6e1XEY8jM+ZoViuBo 1+oR9kHeSNqpnYLju/1QFGBcUHZnChPMcX3UGqTJN6uQnwJeS0rFmbawFvwdmzRpaIzR OLRXaJ97AXj/9nQiI2Q+qRp/9k3KfjFjQZSgBgjaWrmq8zPf2N7mw68rJjk3TP2Oz1CJ Pf/Q== X-Gm-Message-State: ALoCoQnlFEQtMKtybUUGLUP2cGycUwzD4AWzMa3KiZx86UGovDmo2Kaw3f6ffc2RRJPKRLpxXSkv X-Received: by 10.140.98.162 with SMTP id o31mr39440791qge.49.1418557010676; Sun, 14 Dec 2014 03:36:50 -0800 (PST) Received: from flea (c-98-229-61-72.hsd1.ma.comcast.net. This has now been fixed, and it's using read-multiple-choice, which makes the character choices underline and bold on graphical systems, and "[l]ike this" on non-graphical ones. Some terminals do have the capability to underline and bold stuff, but have nil (display-graphic-p), right? Is there a way to determine whether we're running on one of those terminals? Because underlining/bolding is prettier than [t]his. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Thu Feb 04 22:44:04 2016 Received: (at 19368) by debbugs.gnu.org; 5 Feb 2016 03:44:04 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:60840 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84) (envelope-from ) id 1aRXJU-0005IC-15 for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 04 Feb 2016 22:44:04 -0500 Received: from hermes.netfonds.no ([80.91.224.195]:47323) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84) (envelope-from ) id 1aRXJS-0005Hg-II for 19368@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 04 Feb 2016 22:44:03 -0500 Received: from cpe-60-225-211-161.nsw.bigpond.net.au ([60.225.211.161] helo=mouse) by hermes.netfonds.no with esmtpsa (TLS1.0:RSA_AES_128_CBC_SHA1:16) (Exim 4.72) (envelope-from ) id 1aRXJ4-0001sf-5T; Fri, 05 Feb 2016 04:43:39 +0100 From: Lars Ingebrigtsen To: Stefan Monnier Subject: Re: bug#19368: 25.0.50; NSM prompt is not self-explanatory enough References: <83bnn762d6.fsf@gnu.org> Date: Fri, 05 Feb 2016 14:43:33 +1100 In-Reply-To: (Stefan Monnier's message of "Sat, 13 Dec 2014 23:43:37 -0500") Message-ID: <87y4azvn2y.fsf@gnus.org> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/25.1.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain X-MailScanner-ID: 1aRXJ4-0001sf-5T X-Netfonds-MailScanner: Found to be clean X-Netfonds-MailScanner-From: larsi@gnus.org MailScanner-NULL-Check: 1455248619.84607@Rh+Ba+s5iwkkU00x2N56Bg X-Spam-Status: No X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 19368 Cc: Eli Zaretskii , 19368@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) Stefan Monnier writes: > Agreed.
