I upgraded to fedora f21 with emacs 24.4-3 and several lisp programs
stopped working correctly.

I tracked it down to word-search ... match postion was two bytes after
the actual match. For debugging, I added a "replace-match" immediately
after the word-search and replacement was from two bytes in front of the
actual match through two bytes after the actual match.

i reverted to emacs-24.3-27 and things resumed working correctly.
