Also adviced to include the comint-prompt-regexp:

comint-prompt-regexp is a variable defined in `comint.el'.
Its value is "^[]a-zA-Z0-9.[]*\\([>+.] \\)*[+>] "
Local in buffer *R*; global value is "^"
