Actually, Iceweasel's default background can be customized (you rarely see it since most webpages override the default, but for example http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~monnier/ uses the default). Yet I just tried to view http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin23/intro_tree.gif in my Iceweasel and it doesn't use my customized default background color. So, indeed, it looks like Iceweasel's default gif background can't be customized. The default background color for a web browser is also white if > no background color is defined in css. It would help in viewing many > plain text web pages with transparent images. It's true that traditionally web browsers have defaulted to a light background, but that's kinda changing now with the popularity of "dark" themes. But in any case, I think eww should default to the background colour the user has chosen, so I don't think there's any bug here to be fixed. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Thu Sep 26 12:41:37 2019 Received: (at control) by debbugs.gnu.org; 26 Sep 2019 16:41:37 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:44549 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1iDWpk-0006S5-Qc for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 26 Sep 2019 12:41:37 -0400 Received: from quimby.gnus.org ([80.91.231.51]:35906) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1iDWpj-0006Rw-2v for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 26 Sep 2019 12:41:35 -0400 Received: from cm-84.212.202.86.getinternet.no ([84.212.202.86] helo=marnie) by quimby.gnus.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.89) (envelope-from ) id 1iDWpb-0005GS-Eg for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 26 Sep 2019 18:41:29 +0200 Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2019 18:41:27 +0200 Message-Id: <87v9tfnh6w.fsf@gnus.org> To: control@debbugs.gnu.org From: Lars Ingebrigtsen Subject: control message for bug #17483 X-Spam-Report: Spam detection software, running on the system "quimby.gnus.org", has NOT identified this incoming email as spam.
