Subject: bug#16736: Compiling a Lisp file causes display to flash off and on
Date: Wed, 12 Feb 2014 21:25:09 -0500
Package: emacs
Version: 24.3.50

Current trunk on x86_64 GNU/Linux, Lucid toolkit.

Visit some non-trivial file that compiles with no warnings:

  emacs -Q some-file.el
  M-x byte-compile-file RET RET

During the resulting compilation, at some point it looks like the Emacs
display goes completely blank. It happens a bit fast, so it is hard to
say exactly. It does not look to me as if it is switching to another
buffer (Compile-Log) and back again. It's like the display flashes off
and on. The tool-bar, mode line also disappear.

This effect does not happen with 24.3.
