Hi,

diff -r cannot compare .gz files based on the original file. zdiff
does not have the option of -r. Does it make sense to make diff be
aware of .gz format at least when -r is used? Thanks.

Something like that might make sense, yes, though it probably should be 
more general than just .gz files.
