I suspect this is related to cache-long-scans being non-nil. Try setting it to nil and see if the problem disappears. If it does, do try bisecting or finding a reproducible recipe. Thanks. Try > setting it to nil and see if the problem disappears. If it does, do > try bisecting or finding a reproducible recipe. I could reproduce it several times now: In a emacs repo handled by git: 1) Apply a stash or make some changes.(I use here cl-macs.el) 2) make some more changes, save buffer twice or more. 3) C-x v u (revert changes) Now in the zone where the changes was, cursor is jumping several lines when doing C-n/p. Indeed, if I set cache-long-scans to nil, and reproduce exactly the same recipe, the bug is not happening. -- Thierry Get my Gnupg key: gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 59F29997 From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Tue Nov 26 05:08:14 2013 Received: (at 15973) by debbugs.gnu.org; 26 Nov 2013 10:08:14 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:45411 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.80) (envelope-from ) id 1VlFYz-0006nw-SA for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 26 Nov 2013 05:08:14 -0500 Received: from mail-we0-f178.google.com ([74.125.82.178]:55990) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.80) (envelope-from ) id 1VlFYs-0006nG-CZ for 15973@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 26 Nov 2013 05:08:11 -0500 Received: by mail-we0-f178.google.com with SMTP id u56so5003225wes.37 for <15973@debbugs.gnu.org>; Tue, 26 Nov 2013 02:08:00 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=from:to:cc:subject:organization:references:date:in-reply-to :message-id:user-agent:mime-version:content-type; bh=mrN9hJEzs3/jMvBUcgb6czGomKaaBdcsHD6247Pfq8U=; b=0K2LF5EDeuLHnpPGFKR6QcMER/uFLeKJDNAcSjZDg/+QqfhDS28Sk026xeMW3Js3SX JE6uR3nVWAAcu3xBciCrRUgVrxOD3ycMa68TvX28bEXkAq3x+PsJAnUuI1iUJtVuauHs H3TR9E8q/LNVdS7/SmVAcctc0/MBHvvU9KJ/cRSaEDjNghUDQQL3HbG1zBGcCHr+075E ICrzzIByiqjA6X9auJlDTUi7UZ+pswRn4rg7DntKAfxIc3Ey8LBC+ZBEMKP0EehpR+fv ovlTxGo8rDC6XSla3VtTI/Jzi80VWx0BNlgtUwLXMiMY4014Zo74ZTCY0RkDJSWLYBUH aQxA== X-Received: by 10.194.122.131 with SMTP id ls3mr940897wjb.0.1385460480175; Tue, 26 Nov 2013 02:08:00 -0800 (PST) Received: from dell-14z ([37.160.195.189]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPSA id pi6sm59081833wic.3.2013.11.26.02.07.58 for (version=TLSv1.2 cipher=RC4-SHA bits=128/128); Tue, 26 Nov 2013 02:07:59 -0800 (PST) From: Thierry Volpiatto To: Eli Zaretskii Subject: Re: bug#15973: 24.3.50; Cursor switching brutally several lines at a time with next/previous-line Organization: Emacs Helm References: <87iovg1rvx.fsf@gmail.com> <83a9gsbdla.fsf@gnu.org> Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2013 11:07:53 +0100 In-Reply-To: <83a9gsbdla.fsf@gnu.org> (Eli Zaretskii's message of "Mon, 25 Nov 2013 19:22:57 +0200") Message-ID: <87li0b3286.fsf@gmail.com> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/24.3.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain X-Spam-Score: -0.7 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 15973 Cc: 15973@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.15 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -0.7 (/) Eli Zaretskii writes: > Can you try to figure out when this started to appear, or (better) > bisect it?
