    unfortunately it's not about that.

With all due respect, yes it is.  I have a suspicion you've misunderstood.

					It's about the legal
    stipulations people from all over the world are asked to sign:
    asked to abide to US-courts and the like.

That is part of the copyright assignments.  Thus, it really IS about
the copyright assignments.
