In a file with org mode specified in the top line:

TODO List  -*- mode: org; -*-

going to the menu item org => Documentation => Info documentation

produced the messages: 

uncompressing org.gz...done
uncompressing org-1.gz...done
uncompressing org.gz...done
uncompressing org-1.gz...done

and then it hung.  I finally had to C-G out of it, and then I had the
info button.

This is on Ubuntu Intrepid.
