The similar report for 24.3 in Debian bug#712974
suggests that the underlying cause may not be
trunk bzr 113315 per se, but some other bug that
trunk bzr 113315 tickled.

Can you reproduce the problem in a simpler way than
by invoking Gnus?  What does the ktrace output look
like for a working Emacs, and how does that trace differ
from the trace of a failing Emacs?
