Hi folks,

I have received that bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=984900

and I think that it was solved already in trunk but I could not find them.

How to reproduce?

I meant to say "od -cccccccccc /bin/emacs >/tmp/testfile" which makes a 431 Mbyte file.

I can't reproduce the bug with my copy of Emacs 24.2, which I built
for Fedora 17 (x86-64). So it's not clear to me that the bug is
in the upstream version of Emacs; or it may be that the recipe for
reproducing the bug doesn't contain enough the details.

The bug report was updated with:

---

I switched from Gnome to OpenBox a few weeks ago: the problem doesn't
manifest itself under OpenBox. So you need to run Gnome to reproduce
it.

---

So I think that it sounds like it belongs in the Fedora bug tracker, and
not the Emacs one?

I couldn't reproduce the problem with Emacs 24.2 (which I built) running
under Fedora 17, and I was using Gnome at the time, so it's not clear to
me whether it's an Emacs bug or a Fedora bug or both. It's also
possible, as Petr writes, that the bug is fixed in the Emacs trunk already.
