When I 'emacs -q .' (or any other directory file), it just freezes on 
me. That is as factual as I can get without making assumptions. 
Basically it does not load anything, not even the toolbar shows up, just 
a blank window being unresponsive. Again it might be an assuption to say 
that it's dired-mode causing this! so just:

what:
'emacs -q .'
results:
Freezes emacs

Can not be reproduced on 23.4 or 24.2/3. You need to provide more
information i.e. what OS and file system, does 'ls -l .' work etc.

I couldn't reproduce this either.

Never mind this!. It all seems to be on my end. T.T (other things are 
acting weird as well, not just emacs). Apologies for false alarm.
