Subject: 24.3.50; About meta character representation in `describe-binding'

In (info "(elisp) Scanning Keymaps"):

 -- Command: describe-bindings &optional prefix buffer-or-name
[...]
The listing describes meta characters as <ESC> followed by the
     corresponding non-meta character.

But in my output of `describe-bindings', it seems that all the meta
"characters" are described as something like "M-n", "C-M-i" and so on.
But the non-characters, like <C-backspace> and <f10> are after the
`ESC' prefix.
