In case it stays: Its doc-string is no longer correct:

   "For example, M-x p-c-m expands to M-x partial-completion-mode since
    no other command begins with that sequence of characters"

For M-x p-c-m, I get as completions:

   partial-completion-mode
   pmail-edit-current-message
