Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
Hi!
Don't know if this is interesting or not but looks like libtool can't handle a space in folder names. A newbie like your truly got baffled by this for a while. I was compiling libwnck-3-0 from Trisquel and it stopped like this:
GISCAN Wnck-3.0.gir
libtool: link: cannot find the library `' or unhandled argument `Folder/libwnck3-3.2.0/libwnck'
linking of temporary binary failed: Command '['/bin/bash', '../libtool', '--mode=link', '--tag=CC', '--silent', 'gcc', '-o', '/home/tris/Desktop/Untitled Folder/libwnck3-3.2.0/libwnck/tmp-introspectGMWqNI/Wnck-3.0', '-export-dynamic', '-L.', 'libwnck-3.la', '-pthread', '-lgio-2.0', '-lgobject-2.0', '-lgmodule-2.0', '-lgthread-2.0', '-lrt', '-lglib-2.0', '/home/tris/Desktop/Untitled Folder/libwnck3-3.2.0/libwnck/tmp-introspectGMWqNI/Wnck-3.0.o']' returned non-zero exit status 1
make[2]: *** [Wnck-3.0.gir] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/tris/Desktop/Untitled Folder/libwnck3-3.2.0/libwnck'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/tris/Desktop/Untitled Folder/libwnck3-3.2.0'
make: *** [all] Error 2
Simply renaming "Untitled folder" to "whatever" helped.
Thank you for the free software!
Mikko
