Perl mode indentation does not know about the \() construct.
[Perl mode defined in `perl-mode.el']
It even reports
forward-sexp: Scan error: "Unbalanced parentheses", 158, 1

    my @zzzz=(\%seen_couchrequsts, \%seen_people );
    my @zzzz=\(%seen_couchrequsts, %seen_people );
my @zzzz=(\%seen_couchrequsts, \%seen_people );
}
