After I use `G f' to create an nndoc group (using the attached mbox) and try
to enter that group, it says:

nndoc+/Users/johnw/dl/backup.mbox:backup.mbox error: No articles in group backup.mbox

Am I doing something wrong?  The select method for the group ends up being:

(nndoc "/Users/johnw/Messages/Maildir/mail.backup"
       (nndoc-address "/Users/johnw/Messages/Maildir/mail.backup")
       (nndoc-article-type guess))
