expiry-wait group parameter not working

I have this customization:

 '(gnus-parameters
   (quote
    (("^INBOX"
      (total-expire . t)
      (expiry-wait quote immediate)
      (expiry-target . delete)
      (display .
               [or
                (not reply)
                (not expire)])))))

and yet,

  (gnus-group-fast-parameter "INBOX" 'expiry-wait)

yields nil.

As a result, gnus-summary-expire-articles doesn't seem to do anything to
an expirable message from today.  Only gnus-summary-expire-articles-now
actually seems to have an effect on it.

If this is intended behavior, I think it's a doc bug (at least).

That doesn't look right.  It should be

(expiry-wait . immediate)

So I don't think this is a bug.
