when installing register-list.el from ELPA at

GNU Emacs 24.0.97.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars) of 2012-05-17

get the warning

Would expect this a common error.

What about installing a useful default for `called-interactively-p'?

My suggestion is: 'interactive

point of the change was to force the coder to choose a value.
