The doc string says this about its first parameter:
 
 "ITEMS should be a `custom-group' property."
 
That makes zero sense to me.  ITEMS is clearly a list of some kind, and
I do not see that it has anything to do with "a `custom-group'
property", though I admit that that phrase is unclear to me.
 
Please describe parameter ITEMS properly in the doc string.
