Automake 1.10 is five years old, no longer maintained, and suffers
of a known security problem:

  <http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2009-4029>

I suggest you try to build and install the latest release instead
(automake 1.11.3). If you do so and encounter problem or tetsuite
failures, feel free to open a new report -- we'd be very interested
in that, since none of the automake developers has the possibility
of testing on OpenIndiana.

Thanks,
  Stefano
