The fact is that these failures (as we can experience them, at least) only happen
when we are *forcing* the use of the tru64 depmode *to gcc* (which obviously isn't
really meant nor expected to handle it); OTOH, the failures do *not* happen with
the Sun C Compiler (5.9 on Solaris 10). So the real question is: do such failures
take place with the Tru64 compiler? If yes, we really have a bug to fix; if not,
the failure is merely a consequence of our messing with forced depmodes, and the
correct fix is to SKIP the affected tests.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a Tru64 system, so I can't do the testing
myself.
