Hi. I have access to just Linux and SunOS and cannot reproduce the error (the tests pass), but Karl's solution seems reasonable and shouldn't hurt. Attaching a simple patch which (hopefully) fixes the issue. At least, it doesn't hurt Linux or SunOS, so it shouldn't make things worse.
